Morning Star Center for Social Progress (“Morning Star Center,” “MSC,” “we,” “us”) is a public charity, EIN 68-0595757, headquartered at 4851 S Clarkson St, Englewood, CO 80113, USA. This policy explains what information we collect on this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language on purpose.
Information we collect
- Donation and sponsorship details. When you give, our payment processors collect your name, email, billing details, and payment method. Card payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal — your full card number never touches our servers.
- Contact, volunteer, and partnership inquiries. Name, email, phone, and the message you send us.
- Newsletter signup. Your email address, confirmed through a double opt-in email.
- Event registrations. Night of Hope RSVPs and sponsorships are collected through BetterUnite and our payment processors.
- Technical basics. Like most websites, our hosting provider logs IP addresses and browser information for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To process gifts, issue tax receipts, and honor your program designation.
- To respond to your messages and requests.
- To send the updates you asked for — every marketing email includes a working unsubscribe link, and we honor it immediately.
- To keep records our auditors and the IRS require of a public charity.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
Service providers we rely on
We share information only with the processors that make our work possible, and only for the purposes above: Stripe (card payments and receipts), PayPal (alternative payments), Brevo (email and supporter records), BetterUnite (event RSVPs), and our website hosting provider. Each processes data under its own safeguards and agreements. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you — email info@msc-africa.org and we will respond within 30 days. Unsubscribe links appear in every marketing email. Depending on where you live (including Colorado and the EU/UK), you may have additional rights under local privacy law; we honor reasonable requests from anyone, anywhere.
Children
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 online. Our programs serve children through our sister organizations under strict child-protection standards; stories and images are shared with dignity and appropriate consent.
Security and retention
All pages and forms are served over HTTPS (256-bit SSL). Donation records are retained as required for tax and audit purposes; other records are kept only as long as they are useful for the purposes above.
